Who is Erika Long

Erika Long is a community advocate, small business owner, and engaged resident of Long Beach, Mississippi. As a mother of two, her commitment to civic involvement is rooted in ensuring Long Beach continues to grow in a way that supports families, neighborhoods, and local businesses.

Erika’s advocacy spans education, neighborhood engagement, and city policy. She regularly attends city meetings, follows local development and infrastructure issues, and works to help residents better understand how decisions made at City Hall affect their daily lives. Her focus areas include responsible growth, public safety, economic development, and transparent local government.

Her leadership work began through public education, where she has served as PTO President and was named the 2023–2024 Long Beach School District Parent of the Year. While education remains important to her, these roles helped launch a broader commitment to community-wide advocacy, accountability, and service.

In 2025, Erika ran for Alderman in Ward 3, bringing attention to key local issues she continues to engage with today. Though the campaign has ended, her work has not. She remains active in the community by organizing, collaborating, and showing up consistently to advocate for thoughtful policy and meaningful progress.

Professionally, Erika owns The Long Pour, an event staffing and beverage service operating across the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Her background in business management and hospitality informs her practical, solutions-oriented approach to community challenges, balancing vision with real-world operations and accountability.

Erika is also involved in local civic and political organizations, encouraging informed participation and respectful dialogue around issues that directly impact Long Beach residents.

Erika believes that strong communities are built through transparency, consistency, and participation — and that real progress starts when people are willing to show up, ask questions, and do the work.
